Praises and Pleas

Youth for Christ Roxboro July 18, 2007

He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward him for
what he has done.
Pr 19.17

Praises: “God, who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as
though they were,” we thank You for hundreds of opportunities this summer to
impact the spiritually dead and poor around us—for Tim buying drinks for all
those involved in a brewing fight and You opened their ears to Your word;
for all the lunches shared with summer interns who easily gather teens
starved for food and affection; for activities (rock climbing, paint
balling, canoeing, swimming lessons) that are new, real, and demand
teachable spirits from hard hearts; for the beauty of Your Name
spray-painted on a skate ramp; for a car for YFCR Staffer Aaron; for a new
air hockey table; for working air conditioners; for Your love

Pleas: Father, again we ask that the teens in summer camp this week and
next would give their hearts to You; we humbly ask for Your physical and
spiritual protection for Warehouse kids, that You would keep them from
injury, especially in the skate park; please show our unbelievers how much
they are like their father the devil, a thief, liar and murderer, and help
them want to be clean; grant them (&DW) repentance, please, Lord; may Tim’s
devotional book, Light Steps, bring You glory; may we all find joy in what
we do for the least of these our brethren because we are doing it to You.
