Social freedom allows for all sorts of expressions of "free speech" but wisdom will keep lips equipped for better things than simply saying what one feels.
Such, (so called) "freedom" may leave one free and undeterred in society, but, ah! we shall answer for every idle word we speak (see Matthew 12:36). We may be free before judges, but The Judge may say otherwise.
The simple lesson? Here: Just because one CAN say something does not mean someone SHOULD say something.
Freedom does not simply free one's self; it frees others, and when it's really enjoyed is when it's given, not when it's taken for granted.
"On the lips of him who has understanding, wisdom is found, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks sense. The wise lay up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool brings ruin near." (Proverbs 10:13-14 ESV)
