Only God can satisfy our needs...AND wants.

Grab, grab, grab...
Shop, shop, shop...
Credit, credit, credit...
And still, we want more.
I was thinking about these very things
Sunday as I listened to Pastor Benny
Green at Northbrook Baptist Church in
Boiling Springs, SC. Pastor Benny was
walking us through Ecclesiastes 2. Look at
Benny's third point and check out that
passage.
Could it be that our possessions block our reception of the Kingdom? More than "could be." It's likely.
Jesus said, "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." (Luke 12:32-34, ESV)
Don't worry, God wants to give you His kingdom.
Worry may come to us, though, for it seems His prescription of receiving from Him is to sell off our own kingdom.
Notice where Jesus says our hearts are...
Our hearts will be with what we treasure.
Sometimes, we have to sell out, throw away, cast off, burn or walk away from the little "k" kingdom treasures so that we can receive from God the heavenly, huge big "K" Kingdom.
Wow... this challenges EVERYTHING in my life!
What is loss IS worth what will be gained...
