Sure, but...

Sure, Jesus hung out with sinners.
But, He remained sinless.
Sure, Jesus hung out with all sorts of rotten people (including Tim Bowes).
But, when Jesus went among them, it was for the purpose of leading them to Himself, not to be led to be like them.

Sure, Jesus would forgive anyone.
But, He didn't condone everything.
Sure, Jesus loved people.
But, He hated sin.
Sure, Jesus hung between two sinners.
But, they hung on each side of the Sinless Savior.
Sure, Jesus rebuked the heartless, religious leaders.
But, He didn't stop talking to them.
Sure, Jesus touched the unclean.
But, He made them clean.
Sure, Jesus gave grace and mercy.
But, He also will come in judgement.
Sure, Jesus promised life to any who would come after Him.
But, He also promised all who follow Him would bear the cross.
Sure, Jesus said there was a reward and it would be grand.
But, Jesus also said there would be work, and it would be hard.
Sure, Jesus raised some people from the dead.
But, He left many in the grave.
Sure, Jesus said the Law would not pass away.
But, He also said He would fulfill it.
On and on and on... give me Jesus unfiltered.
Jesus spoke to some people who claimed to live the Scriptures but missed the point that Jesus is the point of the Scriptures. Jesus said, "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life." (John 5:39-40 ESV)
