Do you consider yourself spiritually protected?

art by Steve Goad
It's not enough to be morally clean; we must be spiritually protected...
However, if we only get ourselves straight in one, or even a few ways, without securing genuine spiritual life and spiritual protection, we may be opening ourselves to even bigger trouble.

Consider what Jesus said: "When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last state of that person is worse than the first." (Luke 11:24-26 ESV)
What we need is Jesus! We need to abide in Him and be being filled with the Spirit! God never leaves His children without protection from the enemy's desire to indwell and destroy. The Apostle John said, "But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world." (1 John 4:4 NLT)
Let us seek God for the full victory! It is good to seek moral-clean-up; it is good to desire to be free from bondage. We should desire these things! However, we need cleansing AND filling, that might get free AND stay free.
Be blessed as you consider these things, my beloved friends.
