gift and The Gift

Gifted...

Are you gifted? No, I don't mean are you extremely smart, nor am I asking if you have some innate or extraordinary talent.

Do you have The Gift?

Jesus said, "If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" (Luke 11:13 ESV)

The gift is from the Father...
The gift is for God's children...
The gift is the Holy Spirit...

The Heavenly Father, God Almighty, King of Glory, Ancient of Days, Jehovah Jireh is a giver! Hallelujah! He is gracious and kind. He is benevolent and good. He is wise and generous. He's a good, good Father. He longs to give!

Are you God's child? I know we often say "We're all God's children," but that's only true in the sense that we are all created by Him. We are all His as possession and He is responsible for our ignition. He gave us life, and what a wonderful gift! Still, we must believe on the name of Jesus and receive Jesus to be adopted into the household of God (see John 1:12, Galatians 3:26 & 4:5, and 1 John 3:21). Further, a child of God is led by the Spirit (see Romans 8:14).

The gift is for God's children? Have you believed on Jesus? Have you received Jesus? Are you led by the Spirit?

The real gift God wants to give His children is the Holy Spirit! Why? God is all about give, and we were born dead in our trespasses and sins, so God wants to give us LIFE! The Holy Spirit is Life! He is the Life Giver! He leads us into truth, ushers us into sweet fellowship with God, grants us gifts, imparts to us the mind of God, leads us to labor for the Kingdom, empowers us to holy living... on and on!

Do you have The Gift?

Look at Galatians 5:16-26; there are two lists there; one list shares some of what is common to being led by the flesh; the second list talks about some of what is common when one is led by the Spirit. I am not judging a soul, but I am urging every soul to examine themselves and turn again to the Lord.

Can you say you are Spirit led? I am not asking if you jump up and down and say stuff at church... do you live the Christ life during the week? Are you gifted? Have you ask the Father for His good Gift?
