Affections, speech, vision, direction and focus...
Set these things most carefully and attend to them most diligently. Consider these proverbs:
23 Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.
24 Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you.
25 Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.
26 Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.
27 Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil. - Proverbs 4:23-27

Your life flows from your affections. Be careful who or what and to what degree you set your affections.
Be a straight shooter, but not at the risk of righteousness; speak plainly and humbly. Set a guard over your mouth! Learn to speak with wisdom and to speak words of life. Let the little rudder of your thought life and attitude steer your speech toward Christlikeness.
Get vision! Stay on the straight and narrow, and also develop clear, strategic, Kingdom oriented vision for life; for each day and for a lifetime. Determine a course that pleases God and stick to it!
Map out your steps, and envision a path that pleases God. Only walk now in such a way that these steps today are already on the path of where you'd like to be in the future.
Stay the course! Hold fast!
