Go wherever God sends, but also witness right where you are.

Just to provoke some thought...
"Let's go to ________________ and share Jesus with ___________!" ---- and people line up left and right; out of town, out of country...it doesn't matter. Doing VBS, Backyard Bible Clubs, working in a homeless shelter or a feed kitchen; working with children, women, a prison...doesn't matter. "LET'S GO!"
"Let's stay right here at home and share Jesus with ___________." ---- silence.
Absence.
Busyness.
Reaching teens, serving children, working with the poor, going into prisons, serving abused women, tutoring...all sorts of things right here!
Is it that we love to travel?
Is it that we can go be anything anywhere for a few days?
What is it?
Why can we go so easily, but are horrible at doing right around us what we rush to do somewhere else? Is it the light commitment of an event that is easier than the grueling commitment of non-stop ministry that makes going ________ more desirable than serving here?
When Jesus said, "Ye shall be my witnesses..." He certainly did not mean that to be limited to situations we liked or thought interesting
If we're not being His witnesses, we are witnessing something for someone.

Let us hear Jesus on the Parable of the Great Feast
15Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, “What a blessing it will be to attend a banquetc in the Kingdom of God!”
16Jesus replied with this story: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. 17When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’ 18But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’ 19Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.’ 20Another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’
21“The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ 22After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’ 23So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. 24For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.’” (Luke 14:15-24 NLT)
